Springs Garden Center Feature Pond Rebuild
Client
Springs Garden Center Pond – Toowoomba QLD
Project Description
This had always been a problem pond as it had been constructed with poor quality pond liner and the sand stone pebble used became a perfect place for algae to grow. It was drained and left because it was far too much maintenance to keep looking good. Cement had been used to construct basic waterfalls and the pump had been placed in the bottom of the pond where it was choked by algae and debris.
There was also no filtration and as the poor quality liner deteriorated it leaked a huge amount of water requiring it to be topped up daily. All good fun and we do enjoy a challenge.
Our job was to make it a great feature at the entry to the Garden Centre. In the end we set it up with a two main waterfalls into a upper pond area which then dropped into the main pond from two smaller falls.
This pond was designed with no skimmers as we installed a pondless reservoir at the end of the stream that runs out of the pond.
